ISO 18385:2016 is an international standard focused on minimizing the risk of human DNA contamination in products used for forensic DNA analysis. It sets requirements for the production of consumables and reagents used in collecting, storing, and analyzing biological material for forensic purposes, but not for post-amplification analysis. The standard aims to ensure that forensic DNA analyses are not skewed by the presence of low-level human DNA in the materials used.
