ISO/TS 15066:2016 is a technical specification that provides guidance on the safe operation of collaborative robot systems, also known as cobots, where humans and robots share a workspace. It focuses on reducing risks to people in such collaborative environments by providing specific requirements and recommendations. This standard complements existing industrial robot safety standards (ISO 10218-1 and ISO 10218-2) by offering additional guidance on collaborative operations, including hand guiding, speed and separation monitoring, and power and force limiting.
