ISO 3743-1:2010 is an international standard for measuring the sound power level of noise sources, particularly small, movable ones, in reverberant fields. It provides an engineering method for determining these levels by comparing the sound pressure levels emitted by the test source with those of a calibrated reference sound source within a hard-walled test room. This comparison method is suitable for various types of noise, including steady, non-steady, fluctuating, and isolated bursts of sound energy.
