ISO 7889:2003 is an international standard that specifies a method for counting the characteristic microorganisms in yogurt using the colony-count technique at 37 degrees Celsius. This method is suitable for yogurts containing viable Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus.
