ISO 16649-1:2018 is a standard that specifies a method for enumerating β-glucuronidase-positive Escherichia coli in food and animal feeding stuffs. This method involves a colony-count technique after resuscitation using membranes and incubation at 44°C on a solid medium containing a chromogenic ingredient.
