ISO 9439:1999 is an international standard that specifies a method for evaluating the ultimate aerobic biodegradability of organic compounds in aqueous medium. It does this by measuring the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) evolved during biodegradation under aerobic conditions. This standard was published in 1999 and last reviewed in 2020.
