What is FIEO?
- FIEO is the apex body set
up in 1965 by India’s Ministry of Commerce and private trade to represent
and support exporters
Who is Eligible? (Criteria)
- Must be an Indian exporter of
goods or services (merchant, manufacturer, or merchant‑cum‑manufacturer)
- Should hold a valid IEC
(Import Export Code) Must be a genuine export business, with
export/import activities as primary business Applicable where no other
Export Promotion Council covers the product/service; FIEO issues RCMC for
multi-product exporters too
- First-time: MSEs must have a
valid Udyam registration (for micro & small enterprises)

Process & Required Documents
1. Gather Documents
- IEC certificate
- PAN card & GSTIN
- Certificate of Incorporation /
firm registration
- Bank statement
- Digital Signature Certificate
(for online filing)
- Passport-size photo of
authorized signatory
- Udyam certificate (if MSE)
2. Online Application
Steps
1.
Go
to the FIEO website → Membership/RCMC registration section
2.
Complete
the application form: business profile, export turnover, IEC, export
performance
3.
Upload
documents and digital signature.
4.
Pay
membership/RCMC fees (based on exporter category; incorporated with GST)
3. Review &
Approval
- FIEO reviews the application;
once approved, RCMC is granted
- Validity: Issued from April 1
of licensing year; valid for five years (unless specified)
4. Renewal/Amendments
- RCMC must be renewed every
five years.
- Any changes (office location,
directors, banking details) require filing updated documents
